Stephen Rocky Mtui is a commercially astute legal practitioner and the Managing Partner of Gerics Attorneys. As the Managing Partner, he plays a central role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction, cultivating institutional client relationships, and leading complex engagements across sectors.
HHiiss practice focuses on corporate governance, real estate and conveyancing, regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions, with a strong record advising Tanzanian and international clients. His dual experience in private practice and as in-house legal counsel enables him to navigate legal and business environments with precision and ffooresight. Stephen has led matters involving cross-border transactions, compliance structuring, civil and commercial litigation, arbitration, and contract negotiation. He is known for a practical, solutions-oriented approach that aligns legal outcomes with broader organizational objectives. Before co-founding Gerics, he held senior in-house legal roles with a global engineering group and a leading Tanzanian construction firm.

Richard Samwel Limihagati is the Legal Director and Co-Founder of Gerics Attorneys. He brings a profound and specialized focus on taxation, commercial law, and extractive industries. His practice spans domestic and international tax advisory, with experience supporting global corporations, mid-sized enterprises, and iinnvestment entities on complex legal and transactional matters.
Richard’s expertise covers the full scope of tax law,
including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged
buyouts, group financing and reorganizations,
corporate tax management, transfer pricing, and
real estate investment taxation. He also advises on executive and entrepreneurial tax planning, family business transfers, and multi-jurisdictional compliance strategies.
Beyond tax, Richard advises clients on corporate and financial markets law, focusing on cross-border investment, business restructuring, and regulatory f rameworks. His legal experience includes substantial transactional work in the mining and extractive sectors.
He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Taxation f rom the University of Dar es Salaam, a Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Management f rom the Institute of Finance Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice f rom the Law School of Tanzania, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) f rom the University of Dar es Salaam.
